CHAMPAIGN, Ill.
— Sept. 8, 2015 — Today Cobalt Digital announced significant upgrades and enhancements to the company’s ANC-MON series of ancillary metadata monitors. The ANC-MON combines the probing capabilities of multiple pieces of test equipment into a single tool that automatically detects and displays a comprehensive range of ancillary data and enables broadcast control room operators to verify if specific data is in or out of spec. Launched earlier this year, the ANC-MON is part of a suite of data-processing products that also includes a serial, GPI/O, and IP data insertion and extraction tool for 3G/HD/SD-SDI video.

Cobalt Digital Participating on Panel at TAB

Cobalt’s Jesse Foster will join other industry experts for the panel discussion “Emergency Crawls: Text to Speech.” The panel will be held Aug. 6, 8-9 a.m., at the Renaissance Austin Hotel in the San Antonio room. The participants will discuss the best and most cost-effective options for complying with the FCC’s new emergency crawl mandate.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — July 20, 2015 — Cobalt Digital today announced that it has signed an exclusive reseller agreement with VSolutions Pte Ltd., a Singapore dealer and systems integrator with successful implementations of end-to-end, turnkey projects for TV stations, pay-TV operators, broadcasters, telcos, and postproduction facilities in the region. VSolutions has been appointed Cobalt’s sole dealer in Singapore, and as such will represent Cobalt’s complete portfolio of products and technologies.

Application Summary

The Challenge: Panavision needed to upgrade its video-processing system to handle today’s advanced digital production workflows. The system had to be able to pass embedded data and audio and process elements such as metadata and 3G video signals. It needed an expandable multiviewer to replace a quad-split setup. It all had to fit into the space constraints of a multicam sitcom production. And it had to be flexible enough to expand upon it well into the future.

URBANA, Ill. — April 7, 2015 — Cobalt Digital today announced that global audio and video equipment rental company Video Equipment Rentals (VER) has incorporated Cobalt converters and distribution amplifiers into a new flypack it is building for sports- and entertainment-related projects. The flypack is first destined for use in June by a U.S. broadcaster during the world’s largest women’s soccer event in Vancouver, British Columbia.
